Prime Minister Keir Starmer said Monday that Britain must plan for the possibility that the war in the Middle East could last for “some time,” and warned against taking “false comfort” in the thought that the conflict could end swiftly.

Asked by a parliamentary committee of lawmakers whether Britain thinks the war could last for months, rather than days or weeks, Starmer said: “We’ve got to plan on the basis that it could go on for some time.”
