지난 50년 이상 제임스 브라운(James Brown), 아레사 프랭클린(Aretha Franklin), BB 킹(BB King) 등 리듬 앤 블루스 아이콘을 위한 명예의 전당을 세우려는 수많은 시도 끝에 내셔널 리듬 앤 블루스 명예의 전당(National Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame)이 결실을 맺게 되었습니다.

NRBHF는 미시시피주 마크스에 건설될 예정이며 기공식을 통해   2022년 9월 30일 금요일에  연례 Mules & Blues Fest가 시작됩니다.

Marks-Quitman 카운티 시는 산업 단지로 알려진 5에이커의 토지(가능한 30에이커 중)를 기부했으며 주 보조금에서 500,000달러를 사용하여 이 독특한 국제 관광 명소를 활성화하고 있습니다.

NRBHF  의 설립자이자 CEO인 LaMont Robinson은 R&B와 시민권, 미국 및 전 세계에 대한 R&B의 공헌을 기리기 위해 명예의 전당을 세우려는 그의 비전을 가볍게 여기지 않는다고 말했습니다

“Wilson은 또한 선출직 공무원들과 만나 " Segregation and Jim Crow 시대 " 의 리듬 앤 블루스 아티스트를 기리는 법안을 국회 의사당에 제출하고 " Rhythm & Blues Artists' Day " 라는 이름의 날을 갖는 작업을 진행하고 있습니다. 매년 8월 17일을 기념하기 위해”라고 NRBHF가 발표했습니다
