“It was a stressful final already. I heard the big crash when it happened, with 12 kilometres to go, but it’s only at the finish that somebody told me that Primoz [Roglic] had gone down. It is really devastating. He was in very good shape already, and I could feel he was getting better and better with every stage. I’m pretty sure he would have been fighting for the GC in the next few days. It’s very sad that a crash has affected him. I hope that he is well, that he recovers quickly, and that he can fight back into contention. I expected my legs to be more tired today. It was a very fast, up and down stage. Actually, I prefer this pace to Tuesday’s super easy rhythm. At this pace, the legs keep turning and it feels better for me. The final kilometres were pretty hot, though. As for tomorrow, it’s another sprint stage that might get complicated because of the wind. It will probably end up being a stressful day out, like many others in this Tour de France. I get along pretty well with Remco [Evenepoel], and I am really enjoying properly racing with him for the first time. I don’t know if we will help each other in the mountain stages… I don’t even think about that. We just need good legs for those stages. At the beginning of the stage, someone hit me from behind and the chain got stuck between the frame and the wheel, so I had to change bikes. I didn’t crash or get hurt, so it’s fine.”

벌써부터 스트레스 받는 파이널(종반부)였다.

도착까지 12키로 정도 남았을 때 빅 크래쉬가 있었다는 소식을 들었는데

거기에 프리모즈 로글리치가 휘말렸다는건 피니시 후에야 들을 수 있었다.

그건 너무나 큰 손실이다.

그는 이미 폼이 좋았고, 후반으로 갈수록 더욱 더 좋아질 거라고 생각했다.

나는 그가 남은 며칠간 GC 리더로서 경쟁을 이어갈 예정이었다고 생각했었다.

그 크래쉬가 로글리치에게 미친 영향은 너무 슬픈 일이다.

그가 빨리 회복할 수 있도록 상태가 좋길 바라며, 다시 앞으로 나와 경쟁할 수 있으면 좋겠다.


나는 오늘 내 다리가 매우 피로할 것이라고 생각했다

(아마도 그 전날 요나스에게 따이며 고생했었기 때문에)

오늘 코스는 매우 빠르고 업 다운이 심한 스테이지였다. 

사실 나는 화요일같은 수퍼 이지한 리듬보다는 오늘과 같은 (빠른) 페이스를 더 선호한다.

이런 페이스에서는 내 다리를 계속 굴릴 수 있고 그게 나한테 더 낫다.

그나저나 마지막 라스트 킬로미터는 꽤 더웠다.

(Hot이 더웠다는건지 치열했다는건지 잘 모르겠음)

내일도 스프린트 스테이지가 이어지는데 바람 때문에 까다로울 것 같다.

내일도 마지막에는 언제나처럼의 뚜르처럼 굉장히 힘든 스테이지가 될 것.


나는 렘코랑 잘 지내는 편이고 그와 처음으로 레이싱을 함께 하게 되어 좋다.

우리가 산악스테이지에서 서로 협력할 수 있을지는 모르겠다...

사실 난 그럴 가능성에 대해 생각해본 적도 없다

(사족이지만 포가챠는 산악스테이지에서 빙예고를 함께 견제하기 위해 로글리치 폼이 올라오길 기대했을 것 같음)

우리는 그런 (산악)스테이지에서는 그냥 좋은 다리가 필요할 뿐이다.


스테이지 초반에 누군가 자전거 뒤를 쳐서 체인이 빠지긴 했는데

그래서 바이크를 교체했고 뭐 다친 것도 아니고 별 일은 아니었다.
