The EM-Rail Ejector is a railgun-type launcher that shoots Solar Sails in a straight line at high speed, but the planet the building is on will prevent firing. The Ejector also can't be built nearby other tall buildings.

In order to fire, you must select a specific Swarm orbit to target in the UI. The Ejector will then track a point on that orbit and be eligible to fire Sails if the pitch angle is between 5° and 60°. The target point selected is the cross-product of the up-vector of the swarm's orbit with the vector from the sun to the Ejector. This means that for swarm orbits on the ecliptic plane (0° inclination), the target will be 90° counter-clockwise (i.e. orbit-forward) from the line intersecting the planet, the sun and the swarm's orbit. If the swarm has a polar orbit (90° inclination), then the target will always be one of the poles above or below the system, switching every half-year.

Because of these limitations, it is basically impossible for a single EM-Rail Ejector to have 100% uptime, or even more than 50% when averaged over a year. If you are shooting into a near-equatorial orbit, Ejectors are optimally positioned around 30° latitude - this gives them the maximum uptime across the day, starting at a 5° angle near dawn, reaching a maximum 60° angle at noon and then decreasing again. Putting them on the equator gives a gap during noon when the angle is too high, while going farther towards the poles reduces the percentage uptime.


With a polar swarm orbit, make sure the radius is large enough so that you can always have a 5° pitch angle from the poles. Then set up two Ejector stations on each pole; each will be active for half the year. If the planet has any appreciable amount of tilt, you will want to align the swarm's "Longitude of (AN)" with the planet's summer solstice on the northern hemisphere, so that the pole switchover happens properl

2. '스웜(의 궤도)가 극궤도일 경우 (궤도 경사가 90인 경우) 타겟은 항상 계(the system인데 무슨 시스템을 말하는지 모르겠다)의 위아래 극이 될것이며, 반년마다 전환될 것이다.


?? 이건 모르겠음. 스웜 궤도가 90도면 그 궤도의 맨 꼭대기나 맨 아래쪽을 반년마다 번갈아가면서 쏜다는 소리인지?
