@everyone

As of very recently, it appears that Dark Souls 3 can now be family shared on Steam once again. I've checked this myself by signing into my alts with it, and also had verification from some others.

For those who weren't able or willing to repurchase the game or ban their main account, you can now use the family sharing system to play on or create a separate account for Ashes.

For those who did repurchase the game, we're sorry for the financial inconvenience to you. Please understand that we had no way of knowing this would be reversed, especially considering the corporate logic of Bandai Namco that went into instating this change in the first place. If you purchased the game on Steam for your second account, you have the option to refund it. If you purchased from a third party, refund options may be subject to the retailer.

For those who banned their main accounts, you now have access to unbanned vanilla servers once again by creating another account.

As evidence of the change being reversed, see here in the properties tab for Dark Souls 3. The line at the very bottom that previously stated that family sharing is disabled, is now gone.

We don't know if Bandai Namco will go back on this change again. We certainly hope not. But for the time being, this is a huge relief for us, and hopefully for you too.
