항상 국제주의의 이상을 몸소 실천하시는 로자 룩셈부르크주의자 동지들에게 민중민주의 이름으로 인사드립니다. 최근 나흘간 모멘텀 동지들은 전국 각지의 대학교에서 중국 관변단체의 홍콩유학생, 지지학생들에 대한 폭력을 저지하고 투쟁을 사수하기 위해 분투중입니다. 공보를 담당하는 동지들도 모두 현장 사수에 투입된 상태였기에 동지들께 홍보가 늦은 점 또한 죄송합니다.
《한 장이 떨어지면 열 명이 함께할 것입니다. 》
- 홍콩 민주화운동에 연대하며 -
이 모든일은 한 장의 대자보에서부터 시작되었습니다. 11월 6일경, 서울대에서 홍콩 민주화운동 지지 자보 게시와 \'레논 벽\'이 홍콩 민주화운동을 반대하는 유학생들의 폭력에 훼손되었습니다. 이후 각지에서 홍콩시민들의 민주적 권리와 홍콩의 자치권 보장을 외치며 모인 학생들은 어김없이 중 관변단체와 학생들의 폭력에 직면했습니다.
서울대, 고려대, 연대에서는 자보와 플랑카드의 조직적 훼손이 벌어졌고, 국민대와 시립대, 건국대에서는 홍콩의 진실을 왜곡하는 선전물이 무단으로 유포되었으며, 심지어 한양대, 동국대, 전남대에서는 대자보와 레논 월을 훼손하려하는 수십 수백명의 유학생들이 홍콩 민주화운동 지지 캠페인 현장에 쳐들어와 물리적 충돌을 벌이는 폭력적 방해까지 일어났습니다.
중국은 우리가 홍콩의 민주화를 지지하는것을 두려워하고 있습니다. 수많은 희생을 딛고 민주화를 이룩해낸 경험을 공유하는 대한민국의 청년들이, 군사독재와 박근혜 정권을 스스로의 힘으로 몰아낸 한국 민주주의의 연대가, 탄압으로 약화되고 있는 홍콩의 민주화 운동에 새로운 불씨를 지필까봐 두려워하고 있습니다.
중국 관변단체들이 한국 학생들의 정당한 자보 게시와 연대 표명에 신경질적인 반응을 보이는 이유가 바로 그점 때문입니다.
그러나 우리는 홍콩에서 벌어지는 민주화 운동을 외면할 수 없습니다.
우리는 이미 경찰의 실탄에 쓰러져간 청년들의 모습을 보았습니다,
폭력적인 진압에 피흘리는 학생들의 모습을 보았습니다.
우리의 아픈 역사와 겹쳐보이는 그들의 모습을 보았습니다.
여러분, 홍콩의 아픔에 연민하고 연대합시다. 우리가 당연하다고 생각하는 권리를 누리지 못하고 있는 홍콩 시민들을 위해 함께 분노하고 행동합시다. 여러 학교와 번화가에 홍콩 지지 손글씨를 붙일수 있는 \'레논 월\'이 서 있습니다. 짧은 한마디라도 투쟁하는 홍콩 시민들에게 큰 힘이 될 수 있습니다. 저희 모멘텀 또한 현재 전국 각지의 대학가와 거리에서 레논 월과 캠페인 진행단에게 가해지는 유학생 관변단체들의 폭력을 저지하고, 홍콩 학생들을 사수하기 위해 전력을 다하는 중입니다.
그들은 우리를 침묵시킬 수 있다고 호언장담하고 있습니다. 홍콩 시민들과 연대하는 학생들의 목소리를 겁박하며 조용하게 만들 수 있다고 생각합니다. 그러나 그들이 한 장의 자보를 뗀다면, 우리는 그 열배의, 스무배의 목소리로 외칠것입니다. 민주주의를 향한 연대의 힘은 언제나 독재의 탄압보다 강할것을 우리는 믿기 때문입니다.

《One lost poster means ten more people on our side》
All of this happened from one statement. On November 6th, at Seoul National University, a Lennon Wall in support of the Hong Kong democratic movement was damaged via violent methods by exchange students against the democratic protests. After that students supporting Hong Kong’s autonomy faced violence from those who oppose it.
At Seoul National University, Korea University and Yeonsei University, written statements and planck cards were damaged through organized methods, at Kookmin University, University of Seoul and Konkuk University saw various attempts of spreading false news regarding Hong Kong. To top this off, At Hanyang, Dongook and Jeonam Universities saw several hundred exchange students using violence and immature attempts of sabotage on the respective Lennon walls and campaign sites.
China is afraid of us supporting Hong Kong’s right to democracy. Like the countless young lives that were lost during the military dictatorship and the being the ones who got rid of the Park-Geun-Hye administration, us youth are afraid of seeing the flame that is the Hong Kong democratic movement being stomped.
That is the reason why Chinese government puppets are reacting irrationally to our rightful posted statements.
However we cannot ignore the democratic movement going on in Hong Kong.
We have already seen countless youth shot by the police
We have already seen students bleeding from violent oppression
We saw their faces in our painful history
.
All of us should show solidarity and support for the cries from Hong Kong. We need to show outrage and act together on the fact that the people of Hong Kong cannot have the same rights as us. Many campuses have Lennon walls where you can write a small note of support for the Hong Kong people who are fighting for their rights. Momentum is also acting on a nationwide scale on various campuses to create and protect new and already existing Lennon walls.
Those who oppose us believe they can silence us. However if they rip even one of our statements, we will make our voice 10times, 20times larger than theirs. That is because we believe that the power of solidarity for democracy is always louder than that of a dictatorship’s oppression.
