The Artist's Abode community project has been ongoing for a while now, and will soon be complete! Vincent has been eagerly awaiting the moment when he is finally able to move into his new home on the main network, but first he will need to make a quick stop by the Alpha server, just to make sure everything's working as intended.


► The Artist's Abode

Found on the outskirts of the Village near what's left of the Colosseum, the Artist's Abode is home to Vincent. A master artisan, Vincent prefers to paint with dyes, and somehow always manages to find exactly what he needs to paint his latest masterpiece.

Vincent's Masterpiece

Talk to Vincent to see what he's currently painting! Every SkyBlock Year, Vincent will choose 3 dyes at random to use in his latest work. Two of these dyes will have their drop rates increased by 2x throughout the year, while the other will have its rates increased by a whopping 3x!

Dye Balancing

As part of this update, we have taken a look at all dyes currently dropped from playing Hypixel SkyBlock, and have made a number of changes to either drop rates, drop sources, or both. We will give you some detailed insight into our rationale when making these changes as part of the Artist's Abode update thread, but the TL;DR is that we would like dyes to drop from expansive content with progression systems tied to them (think dungeons, crystal nucleus, etc.) as opposed to niche sources (mushroom cows, sneaky creepers, etc.) that essentially create a grind out of nothing.

14 New Dyes!

Now that we've adjusted dye drop rates a bit, we're happy to add some new dyes that add a bit more vibrancy to the current dye palette. These new dyes look to add a tad more vibrancy to the existing dye palette and drop from sources of intentionally repeatable content such as slayers, pests, the crystal nucleus, and more!

Dye Compendium

Viewable within Vincent's Masterpiece menu, the Dye Compendium contains an exhaustive list of every dye currently in the game, its drop source, and its drop rate! This is particularly useful for players wanting to hunt dyes that have a varying drop rate (for example, the Matcha Dye, which drops from the Revenant Horror, is far more likely to drop from a T5 than it is from a T1).

Bucket of Dye Accessory

The Bucket of Dye is a unique new accessory that not only makes dye-hunting easier, but also comes in many colors! Depending upon which color dye you donate to Vincent, the color of the accessory you receive will change!


Please note that we will be monitoring community feedback to this Alpha and will balance dye drop rates accordingly. Additionally, following the update's eventual release, we will monitor our dye-related metrics and, if any dyes are still far too rare or even start to become too common, we will more than likely make further changes. Our goal, however, is for players to have a very small chance of dropping a dye when playing the core game as opposed to having to grind niche content that is often intended for early-game players and thus doesn't give any meaningful rewards to more advanced players if they aren't lucky enough to drop a dye.

Bomb Defuse puzzle has been removed from The Catacombs.

Some Gemstone Slot Additions

A Peridot Gemstone Slot have been added to the Pumpkin and Melon Dicers.

Dark Claymore's Gemstone Slots are now Combat Gemstone Slots instead of locked to Jasper only.

When all the abiphone relays are fixed, Fred will no longer complain about bad signal.

The Nucleus Loot Bundle reward summary message has been improved.

Added /setmaxspeed command to change Rancher's Boots speed without having to take them off.

Added button in Bazaar to claim all coins from all sell orders.

Fixed an issue where votes for hidden elections could still be viewed in Dungeons.

Removed NPC sell price from Dyes.

Adjusted the hex color of the Midnight Dye.

Fixed an issue causing the Midnight Dye not to drop.

Fixed an issue causing players with 100% Sea Creature Chance to not roll for Dyes.

Adjusted how Dyes are displayed in the Bestiary from percentage to raw odds.

Added a lobby-wide message that is sent to all players whenever someone drops a Dye.
