I learned alot from quake community that there are some things you need to consider when you're choosing mousepads: 1. do you prefer cloth or hard pads? difference are: -cloth worn out fast, it'll change from "superslick" to "rough and heavy" in weeks. Hard pad's "superslick" feeling last longer but tears down your skates faster. Some CS players including myself prefer the "rough and heavy" worn out mousepads feeling because I'm just used to it -hard pads are more consistent in gliding due to flat surface but cloth pads are famous among pro CS players due to it's portability and being able to add some pressure to the pad to help you stop tracking in fast mouse movement(that's why some prefer QcK heavy and the reason it exist (= ). it's preference -what matters in mousepad is it's speed, speed by means how much resistance it offers to the mouse. for example roccat taito is slow as fuck where as QcK is one of the fastest(but wears out super fast) to move. it's all about preference. -compability with mouse. most laser mouse do fine, on most optical however, stay away from multi-colored mousepad to avoid jitter. some sensors track at different speed on different color, if the sensor keep picking up different color it may cause jitters or inconsistency in mouse speed. some mouse just don't really care what mousepad color it is but mouse like abyssus are picky as hell. goliathus control are faster than goliathus speed due to holes in mousepad giving it less friction to your skates which means faster movement. It's not about how certain material it is used in the mousepad surface reflecting sensor's light like some "gaming equipment" claims on it's advertisement. it's about how fast/slow is it and it's compatibility to the mouse (:
