It is basically the same as what Razer uses, but Razer does it using hardware (which gives them no extra delay) while EGG does it 'software' wise, hence the +1 ms delay.ย 

It doesn't read the inputs faster, actually the inputs could be read out slower: but in a better timed / more correct way. The USB port has a certain 'window' where it can accept input and the mouse basically syncs with that.
