나는 15년쯤 전엔가 일기엔가 온라인에 한국에서 무성영화를 말로 설명해주는 변사나, 이 소설처럼 미국에서인가 통신기기가 없고 문맹이 많아서 돌아다니면서 말로 얘기나 소식을 전달하는데 정치적 견해 차이로 싸움이 붙기도 하는 이야기를 영화로 만들면 좋겠다고 썼었다. 둘 중에 뭐였는지 정확하게 기억이 안난다.


누구나 할 수 있는 흔한 생각이었다.
