Shall I compare thee to a summer's day
당신을 여름날에 빗대볼까요
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
당신은 더욱 사랑스럽고 온화하죠
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
거친 바람에 오월의 여린 새싹들은 흔들리고,
And summer's lease hath all to short a date;
여름날은 너무도 짧아요
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
어떤 날은 하늘의 눈이 너무 뜨겁게 이글대고,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
금빛 가득한 그 얼굴이 흐려질때도 있죠
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
어떤 아름다움도 언젠가는 기울어요
By chance or nature's changing course untrimm'd;
우연이든 자연의 이치 때문이든
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
그러나 그대의 영원한 여름은 빛바래지 않을 것이고,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st;
그대가 지닌 아름다움도 잃지 않을것이며
Nor shall death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
죽음도 그대를 그늘로 끌고가지 않을 수 있어요
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st:
만일 그대가 영원한 싯구속에 깃든다면
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
인간이 숨 쉬는 한, 두 눈으로 앞을 볼 수 있는 한,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
