There are two kinds of visual memory: 


one when you skillfully recreate an image in the laboratory of your mind, with your eyes open


(and then I see Annabel in such general terms as: "honey-colored skin," "thin arms," "brown bobbed hair," "long lashes," "big bright mouth");


and the other when you instantly evoke, with shut eyes, on the dark innerside of your eyelids, the objective, absolutely optical replica of a beloved face,


a little ghost in natural colors (and this is how I see Lolita).



시각적 기억에는 두 종류가 있다. 


하나는 눈을 뜬 채 마음속 실험실에서 어떤 이미지를 능숙하게 재창조하는 기억이고


(이때 나는 '꿀빛 피부' '날씬한 팔' '갈색 단발머리' '긴 속눈썹' '크고 선명한 입술' 따위의 일반적인 용어로 애너벨의 모습을 떠올린다),


또하나는 눈을 감았을 때 눈꺼풀 안쪽의 어둠 속에 즉각 나타나는 영상인데, 


누군가의 사랑스러운 얼굴이 마치 자연스러운 빛깔의 작은 유령처럼, 마치 복제화처럼 철저히 시각적이며 객관적인 형태로 재현된다


(내가 떠올리는 롤리타의 모습이 그렇다).




누구나 한번쯤은 해본 기억있을 듯?ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
