She was working as an apprentice at Vogue magazine in 1946, when he arrived for a lecture tour prior to the publication of his first English translation. Though Blake was also a model for a Richard Avedon photo, she's more famously known as one of Camus' mistresses whom he corresponded with until his death in 1960.
