광고 있는 버전(with Special Offers)을 사면 15달러 정도 저렴한데, 대신 락스크린이랑 홈 화면 하단에 광고가 뜸. 근데 이게 가끔 성인 광고가 뜨는지라 여간 창피하지 않을 수가 없음. 그리고 세일 정보 같은 유용한 광고도 그나마 한국에서는 서비스 대상이 아니라고 하기 때문에 더더욱 쓸모가 없음.

그런데 아마존 계정 국가가 한국으로 설정된 경우, 아마존 홈페이지의 디바이스 옵션에서 아예 스페셜 오퍼 해제 관련 메뉴가 뜨지 않음. 그러므로 고객지원 페이지에서 이메일 지원이나 채팅 지원을 선택해야 함. 채팅 지원일 경우 실시간이라서 좀 부담스럽기 때문에, 이메일 지원을 선택하는 것을 추천함.


메일은 대충 이런 식으로, 본인 상황에 맞춰서 살짝살짝 바꾸면 됨. 가장 중요하게 강조해야 하는 포인트가 2가지인데,

1) 나는 한국 살아서 스페셜 오퍼 떠도 무쓸모다

What if she saw the lockscreen of this kindle? I can set the passcode, but I can't handle the lockscreen. So I'm really worried.

아무튼 이렇게 보내면 하루 안으로 연락이 와서 킨들을 와이파이에 연결하라는 답신이 옴. 와이파이에 연결하는 순간 스페셜 오퍼가 해제되고, 광고 없이 킨들을 쓸 수 있음. 비용은 한국 산다고 하면 따로 청구하지 않고 특별 케이스라고 알려줌.
