The consciousness of anti-christ is based on a perverted view of the two basic elements of creation. We have seen that the Creator created a world in which distinct forms can exist. Yet what makes it possible to create distinct forms? There must be something that defines distinct characteristics. That “something” is the two basic forces of creation, an expanding and a contracting force. These forces can also be described as masculine and feminine or as the Yin and Yang of the Taoist Tai Chi.

The ascended masters teach that every form is created from a balanced interaction of the expanding and contracting forces. Yet these forces are not opposites; they are complementary. They do not cancel out each other; they merely balance each other. In order to create a form, you must stir the Ma-ter light into taking on a distinct vibration. This is an expansive force, but if the outgoing force was not balanced, you would merely have an explosion. For there to be a distinct form, the expansive and the contracting force must be balanced. What creates and maintains this balance is the Christ consciousness. A form that is created from the Christ consciousness is sustainable. Yet this is so because the Christ consciousness sees that the two basic forces are expressions of the Creator, meaning that the distinct forms created through their interactions are not separated from their source.

The consciousness of anti-christ denies the underlying oneness and sees the two basic forces as opposites. Thus, instead of completing each other, they work against or cancel out each other. The consciousness of anti-christ springs from a desire to deny oneness, and by defining the two basic forces as opposites, a fundamental state of duality is created. In this state of duality, it is possible to create the appearance that forms are separate, which means self-aware beings can now see themselves and their unascended sphere as being separate from its source or as being self-existing.

Take note that the consciousness of anti-christ does not change the fundamental reality that all life is one. It simply creates an appearance of separateness, but this appearance can exist ONLY in the minds of self-aware beings. Yet because of the Law of Free Will, beings are allowed to have this experience. Beings are allowed to explore the path of separation, before they eventually come back to the path of oneness.

How does the consciousness of duality work? Well, it first separates the basic elements of creation by creating numerous definitions in which there are two opposites. It then applies a kind of value judgment to the opposites, saying that one is good and the other evil, one is true and the other false, one is right and the other is wrong.

Let us look at a practical example. In the western world, we have been domnated by Christianity, which is based on the Old Testament. This religious scripture has formed the basis for what is often called the three great monotheistic religions; Judaism Christianity and Islam. The central theme in the Old Testament is the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. God is portrayed as a male figure, and it was Eve – the feminine element – that caused the expulsion from Paradise. This has led to three large religions who present a fundamental conflict between the two basic elements of creation. God is masculine and good, whereas the feminine is separated from god, even bad.

This view is a fundamentally dualistic view, and it has defined masculine and feminine as being separate and opposite. It has also applied a value judgment that one is good and the other is bad. Obviously, this can never lead to the Christ consciousness, because the role of the Christ consciousness is to maintain oneness between the basic elements of creation. In this state you have complete unity and balance between masculine and feminine, expanding and contracting forces.
