Obviously, not all of the members of the civilization died, but they were scattered far and wide and within a few generations lost all memory of the old civilization, except for a few myths (such as the myths of the sunken continents of Atlantis and Lemuria). There are even people in embodiment today whose genes are still affected, although the expanding force of life has compensated somewhat for the manipulation. Yet there is a genetic component behind the fact that so many people on Earth either have no spiritual interest or blindly follow an outer religion without ever reaching for a direct inner experience.

One group of survivors managed to preserve part of their spiritual tradition, including what is now known as Genesis, but it was the altered version that was preserved. I know this might seem like a far-flung story that can make some people feel like nothing is beyond manipulation. Yet it illustrates the extent to which fallen beings are willing to go in order to distort a religious scripture. Once they have accomplished what they want, they will then create a culture that venerates the scripture as the infallible word of God, using it as the foundation for a religion that becomes a closed box. These beings have no respect for genuine revelation and have no hesitation about altering it for their own ends, even for their own glorification. That is why true spiritual seekers must be willing to look beyond all outer scriptures and seek for the Christ discernment that is the only way to know God’s truth.
