Many Christians have come to believe that Jesus Christ was the only begotten Son of God or that he was God from the very beginning. This is an idea that is not unconditionally true. As Every self-aware being that was ever created is a son or daughter of God. Everything that was ever created came out of the Being and consciousness of God, and therefore, from a certain viewpoint it was God from the very beginning. The moment an individualized form or being comes into existence, it takes on distinct characteristics, and thus it is no longer the All of God. This is equally true for Jesus Christ as it is for you. Jesus came out of the All of God, and he was and is a son of God. You too came out of the All and you too are a son or daughter of God. Jesus even affirmed his equality with all life in the statement: “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me” (Matthew 25:40).

If you have grown up in the idolatry promoted by orthodox Christianity, you might consider my statements to be blasphemous. Jesus never set himself apart from others, nor did he set himself at the same level as God. Why do you think he said: “Why callest thou me good, there is none good but one, that is, God” (Matthew 19:17). Jesus considers the orthodox doctrine that he was the only begotten Son of God to be the worst form of blasphemy and a mockery of his entire mission. By creating these doctrines, Jesus has been set apart from all other people, and thus he has become an idol rather than an example. It is not to Jesus’ liking that so many Christians dance around this golden calf, rather than acknowledging the fact that Jesus came to show them their true potential for reclaiming their divine inheritance. The real difference between you and Jesus is that he recognized and accepted his origin as a son of God whereas you have not yet done so. You do have the potential to reclaim your true identity by following the example set by Jesus and letting this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5).
