2020-11-10: Defective Batch, Cancel, Ship Later or B-Grade?

We are officially stopping all T1 November shipments due to Quality Control concerns. Our core team have arrived at the factory and are trying to fix the problem in time for December shipping.

As some of you may or may not know, there are quality issues with T1s shipped in October. As far as we know, there is almost 10% defect within the October shipment, which is much higher than the 2% expected for low volume products. The production problem was concealed from us, and repeated so by bad actors within the factory. However, it is our oversight, so we will take the responsibility.

Our core team arrived at the factory this afternoon, and spent the last 5 hours investigating the cause and stopping packages from being shipped. It is now 3AM in the morning in Asia and we are notifying you now because we found the cause of the problem.

For next steps, we would like to offer you 3 options:

1) 100% refund. We will even cover the credit card fees that cannot be refunded by our platform back for you.

2) Refund the shipping paid and reschedule for December 28th-31st shipping. We will cover the shipping, so think of it as free shipping if you accept this later shipping date.

3) Partial refund of USD70 and ship you a defective unit from this batch. These defective units are referred to as B-Grades, and tend to have small damages. The inconsistency of the quality is what makes them defective. The main caveat is that B-Grade aluminum parts will not be covered by our limited warranty.

11월 배송예정 폼디 QC 문제 때문에 안하기로함. 우리 팀이 공장가서 12월 거는 괜찮게 하려고 하는중.

다들 알다시피 (정보: 레딧에선 폼디 서브레딧이 QC 문제가 최근 떡밥이 됬었음) 10월 배송된 폼디들이 불량품들이 많았었음. 10월 배송한것중 10% 가 불량임. 원래는 2% 정도로 예상한것보다 훨씬 더 높은 수치임. 불량품 문제는 공장이 우리한테 숨기고 있었음. 하지만 이건 우리가 방심한것이니 우리가 책임지겠음.

오늘 오후 우리 팀이 공장에 도착 했고, 지난 5시간동안 문제가 뭔지 찾고있고 배송은 다 멈췄음. 지금 아시아는 새벽 3시인데 지금 이걸 보내는 이유는 지금 문제 원인을 찾았기 때문임.

3가지 옵션이 있음:

1) 100% 환불. 신용카드로 결재할때 수수료도 우리가 환불해줌.

2) 배송비 환불해주고 12월 28일~31일 배송. 우리가 배송비를 내줄테니까 공짜 배송으로 생각하면 됨. 대신 나중에 받는걸로.

3) 70 미국 달러 부분환불 해주고 B-Grade (질 떨어지는) 거 받는거. B-Grade 는 조그마한 결점이 있을순 있음. 퀄리티가 일정하지 못한게 "불량품" 으로 분리되는 이유임. 가장 주의해야되는건 B-Grade 알루 파트는 환불/교환 안됨. (warranty 가 한국어로 뭔지 모르겠음)
