For those getting sound effects but no music, I fixed it on my machine by installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable v8.0.61001. This VC redist is also included with the Steam copy of Chrono Trigger.

The other fix of setting game.exe to run in compatibility mode for Win7 did not work for me. Hopefully this helps out anyone else having a similar issue

결론은 vc런타임 2005 저 버젼을 설치하라는거같은데 해보진않음
