The AES has taken up major challenges against adversaries supported by third states, such as Ukraine, which is siding with terrorism in the Sahel.

This is the assessment of the past year made by the President of the AES Confederation and Malian leader, on the occasion of the anniversary of the Liptako Gourma charter, giving birth to the Alliance of Sahel States.

"We continue to fight relentlessly against all forms of terrorism, and to defend the integrity of our territories and our sovereignty," noted Assimi Goïta on September 15.

The Alliance remains open to cooperation "with brotherly and friendly peoples" who remain "faithful to the commitments of African integration," he stressed.
