Duration

A spell’s Duration entry tells you how long the magical energy of the spell lasts.


Concentration

The spell lasts as long as you concentrate on it. Concentrating to maintain a spell is a standard action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity. Anything that could break your concentration when casting a spell can also break your concentration while you’re maintaining one, causing the spell to end.

You can’t cast a spell while concentrating on another one. Sometimes a spell lasts for a short time after you cease concentrating.


주문은 당신이 그것에 집중하고 있는 동안 유지된다. 주문을 유지하는 데에 집중하는 것은 기회 공격을 유발하지 않는 하나의 표준 행동이다. 주문을 시전할 때 당신의 집중을 깨트릴 수 있는 모든 것은 당신이 유지하고 있는 집중을 깨트려, 주문이 끝나게 만들 수 있다.

당신은 다른 주문에 집중하고 있는 동안에는 주문을 시전할 수 없다. 때로는 어떤 주문은 집중을 중단한 후에도 짧은 시간 동안 유지되는 경우가 있다.




밑에 글처럼 쩜오에서 집중이란 단어가 여러 종류로 사용되긴 하는데


다른 주문을 못 쓰게 방해한다고 직접 언급된 거는 지속시간으로서의 집중임


이 부류의 주문은, 집중을 유지하는 동안 (그러기 위해서는 매 턴 하나의 표준 행동 소모해야 함) 주문이 유지됨



Detect Magic, Telekinesis 이런 주문에 지속시간 Concentration 타입이지




이게 곤란한 게. RAW(룰 적힌 대로) 읽으면, 저 지속시간 규칙에 의해, 해당 주문에 집중하는 동안에는 다른 주문을 시전할 수 없음


근데 주문의 지속시간 유지를 위한 집중은, 표준 행동 하나거든


액션 자체는, Quicken으로 신속swift 행동으로 주문 시전할 시간이 충분히 있음



이거 때문에. 지속시간 집중인 고레벨 주문 (예를 들어 Storm of Vengeance, Black Blade of Disaster) 같은 거 돌리는 동안에는, 다른 퀴큰 주문을 못 돌려서, 오히려 액션 이코노미 떨어지고 딜로스 생기는 거 아닌가 싶더라고




이 부분을 해명해보려고 뒤져봤는데. 비슷하게라도 언급 있는 건, 내가 찾은 걸론 3.0 시절 FAQ 하나 뿐이었음



Is it possible to regain concentration on a spell once you
lose it? What happens if a spell lasts a while after
concentration ceases (hypnotic pattern, for example)? Could
you conceivably stop and restart concentration as long the
spell has not ended? What about if you’re hasted? Could
you use an action to concentrate and an action to do
something else?
If a spell’s duration depends on your concentration, you
cannot regain concentration on the spell once you lose it, even
when the spell doesn’t end imme.diately when your
concentration ceases or is broken.
Concentrating to maintain a spell requires a standard action
on your turn. As long as you spend that standard action, you
can take other actions, time permitting. If you’re entitled to an
extra action, as you would be after receiving a haste spell‚
you’re free to use that action. You also could use the partial
action from haste to maintain concentration and use your
normal actions for other things.


3.0 FAQ에서는 주문 집중 유지는 표준 행동이므로, 그걸 쓰는 한, 시간이 허용하는 한 다른 행동 할 수 있다고 돼 있음. haste 받았으면 haste로 받는 partial action을 그 집중에 돌릴 수도 돼 있다고 돼 있음

3.0 시절엔 haste가 파셜 액션이란 걸 줬거든. 파셜 액션은 이동에만 쓸 수 없는 표준 행동이고. 고로 표준 행동이 남으니까, 다른 행동(캐스팅)에 쓸 수도 있을지도...?



근데 3.0 시절 룰이고, 예제도 하필이면 개정당한 haste고 해서...




일단 나는 DM할때 RAW 존중파라, 집중 지속시간 유지 중에 다른 주문 시전은 못하는 걸로 하긴 하는데


DM 합의 하에, 표준 행동 유지하고 퀴큰으로 캐스팅하는 거 허용할 수도 있는 그레이존이라고 봄
