2014 Hiding 설명을 보자

이번엔 2014 Invisible 설명을 보자


...For the purpose of hiding, the creature is heavily obscured. The creature's location can be detected by any noise it makes or any tracks it leaves.

=숨기 위한 용도로서(투명 상태를 활용할 때) 투명한 크리쳐는 심하게 가려진 상태입니다. 투명한 크리쳐의 위치는 그 크리쳐의 소음이나 흔적으로 알아낼 수 있습니다


보시다시피 2014 Hiding과 2014 Invisible은 서로 달라서 투명한 크리쳐도 은신을 해야 했다. 투명한 크리쳐는 은신을 하지 않으면 위치가 들켰다


그러면 이번엔 에라타 전 2024 Hiding을 보자.

...On a successful check, you have the Invisible condition...

=판정(은신)에 성공하면 당신은 투명 상태를 얻습니다


The condition ends on you immediately after any of the following occurs: you make a sound louder than a whisper, an enemy finds you, you make an attack roll, or you cast a spell with a Verbal component.

보다시피 2024 Invisibility 와 2024 Hiding은 둘다 투명 상태를 부여했다. 아래 어떤 댓글에서 Invisible과 Hiding을 같은 걸로 취급한 사람의 말이 에라타 전에는 틀리지 않은 것이다. 그러면 이제는 Invisible 상태의 크리쳐는 Hiding을 하지 않아도 되는 걸까? 소리와 관련된 규칙은 어디에 있을까? Invisible 설명에 있을까?


Invisible [Condition]

While you have the Invisible condition, you experience the following effects.


Surprise. If you’re Invisible when you roll Initiative, you have Advantage on the roll.


Concealed. You aren’t affected by any effect that requires its target to be seen unless the effect’s creator can somehow see you. Any equipment you are wearing or carrying is also concealed.


Attacks Affected. Attack rolls against you have Disadvantage, and your attack rolls have Advantage. If a creature can somehow see you, you don’t gain this benefit against that creature.


2024 invisible 상태에는 소리에 대한 내용이 없다. 소리를 내면 Invisible 상태에서 풀린다는 건 Hiding 항목에만 있다. 이건 Hiding으로 인한 Invisible이 풀리는 조건이지 다른 조건으로 인한 Invisible 크리쳐를 발견하는 조건이 아니다


그러면 Invisibility로 Invisible 상태가 되면 자동으로 Hiding에 성공한 걸까? Invisibility 스펠로 Invisible 상태가 된 크리쳐를 발견하려면 어떻게 해야 할까? 퍼셉션 체크를 하면 될까? DC는 얼마로 해야 할까? 안타깝게도 규칙에는 나와 있지 않았다


레딧에 보면 이번 Hidden은 또 하나의 슈도-컨디션(Pseudo-condition)으로 추가되었다는 의견이 있다. 5판과 달리 에라타 전에는 Hiding과 Invisible이 구별이 안됐는데 이번 에라타 때 hidden을 넣었다는 것이다. Hidden 상태는 소리를 내거나 어택롤을 굴리는 등의 행위를 하면 풀리는 상태지만 다른 상태들과 달리 룰북에 언급이 안됐고 지금도 안돼있다


따라서 Hidden은 Hidden이 없으면 RAW 적으로 Hiding 외의 다른 방법으로 얻은 invisibility 상태를 발견할 방법이 없어서 넣은 것이라고 봐야 할 것 같다.
