여기서 예수님께서 말씀하신 성경은 구약성경을 말합니다.

8 Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim.
그때에 아말렉이 와서 르피딤에서 이스라엘과 싸우니라.
9 And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.
모세가 여호수아에게 말하기를 “우리에게서 남자들을 택하여 나가서 아말렉과 싸우라. 내일 내가 하나님의 막대기를 내 손에 들고 산 정상에 서리라.” 하니라.
10 And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.
그러므로 여호수아는 모세가 자기에게 말한 대로 행하여 아말렉과 싸웠고 모세와 아론과 훌은 산 정상으로 올라갔으니,
11 And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.
모세가 자기 손을 들면 이스라엘이 이기고, 그가 손을 내리면 아말렉이 이기더라.
12 But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
그러나 모세가 손이 무거워지니, 그들이 돌을 가져다가 모세 아래다 놓더라. 그가 그 위에 앉자 아론과 훌이 하나는 이편에서 하나는 저편에서 모세의 손을 붙들어 그의 손이 해가 질 때까지 그대로 있더라.
13 And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.
여호수아가 칼날로 아말렉과 그의 백성을 쳐부수니라.
출애굽기 17:8~13
여호수아가 잘 싸웠기 때문에 이긴것이 아니라 실은 모세가 손을 들고 있었기에 이스라엘이 이긴 것처럼,
하나님의 아들 예수 그리스도께서 십자가에 못박힌채 손을 들고 계셨기 때문에 우리가 살게 되었습니다.
우리가 잘 싸워서 이긴 것 같아도 실은 예수님 덕분입니다 고백해야 할 것입니다.
우리가 살기 위해서는 그 분께서 손을 들고 계셔야 했습니다.
