NIV Romans 9장

1. I speak the truth in Christ—I am not lying, my conscience( |kɑːnʃəns 양심 양심의 가책) confirms(kən|fɜːrms 사실임을 확인해주다) it through the Holy Spirit—

내가 그리스도 안에서 참말을 하고 거짓말을 아니하노라 나에게 큰 근심이 있는 것과 마음에 그치지 않는 고통이 있는 것을 내 양심이 성령 안에서 나와 더불어 증언하노니

2. I have great sorrow(슬픔) and unceasing(ʌnˈsiːsɪŋ 끊임없는)anguish(ˈæŋɡwɪʃ 큰괴로움 비통) in my heart.

3. For I could wish that I myself were cursed(kɜːrsd 저주 악담을 하다)  and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people, those of my own race,

나의 형제 곧 골육의 친척을 위하여 내 자신이 저주를 받아 그리스도에게서 끊어질지라도 원하는 바로라

4. the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption(əˈdɑːpʃn입양) to sonship(sʌnʃìp 자식임, 자식의신분); theirs the divine(dɪˈvaɪn 신의 ) glory, the covenants(ˈkʌvənənt계약 언약), the receiving( risí:viŋ받는 받음) of the law, the temple worship and the promises(약속).

그들은 이스라엘 사람이라 그들에게는 양자 됨과 영광과 언약들과 율법을 세우신 것과 예배와 약속들이 있고

5. Theirs are the patriarchs(peɪtriɑːrk 가장 족장, 원로), and from them is traced the human ancestry(ænsestri가계, 혈통) of the Messiah, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen.

조상들도 그들의 것이요 육신으로 하면 그리스도가 그들에게서 나셨으니 그는 만물 위에 계셔서 세세에 찬양을 받으실 하나님이시니라 아멘

6. It is not as though Godʼs word had failed(feɪld 실패한). For not all who are descended(diséndid 전해진 유래한) from Israel are Israel.

그러나 하나님의 말씀이 폐하여진 것 같지 않도다 이스라엘에게서 난 그들이 다 이스라엘이 아니요

7. Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abrahamʼs children. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.(ˈrekən여겨지자 예상되다)”

또한 아브라함의 씨가 다 그의 자녀가 아니라 오직 이삭으로부터 난 자라야 네 씨라 불리리라 하셨으니

8. In other words, it is not the children by physical descent(dɪˈsent 혈통, 가문) who are Godʼs children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded(rɪˈɡɑːrd 긴주 고려하다)as Abrahamʼs offspring.

곧 육신의 자녀가 하나님의 자녀가 아니요 오직 약속의 자녀가 씨로 여기심을 받느니라

9. For this was how the promise was stated(stéitid 정기의 확인된): “At the appointed(əˈpɔɪnt 임명하다. 정하다)time I will return, and Sarah will have a son.”

약속의 말씀은 이것이니 명년 이 때에 내가 이르리니 사라에게 아들이 있으리라 하심이라

10. Not only that, but Rebekahʼs children were conceived( kənˈsiːv 상상하다. 임신하다)at the same time by our father Isaac.

그뿐 아니라 또한 리브가가 우리 조상 이삭 한 사람으로 말미암아 임신하였는데

11. Yet, before the twins(쌍둥이)were born or had done anything good or bad—in order that Godʼs purpose in election might stand:

그 자식들이 아직 나지도 아니하고 무슨 선이나 악을 행하지 아니한 때에 택하심을 따라 되는 하나님의 뜻이 행위로 말미암지 않고 오직 부르시는 이로 말미암아 서게 하려 하사
