To address thecontinued missile test activity of North Korea, ourbudget request includes funds to extend at-seatime from 120 to 230 days-at-sea and conduct contingency operations for defense of thehomeland in the U.S. Pacific Command and U.S. Northern Command areas of responsibility.

in the third quarter of FY 2018 C2BMC Spiral 8.2-1 becomes operational inU.S.Northern Command and Pacific Commandin support of Enhanced Homeland Defense.  Spiral 8.2-1 is a complete hardware update to the C2BMC system that allows C2BMC to integrate data from multiple AN/TPY-2 radars, SBX, UEWR, Upgraded Cobra Dane, and the BMDS OverheadPersistent Infrared (OPIR) architecture.Enhancements include system raid size and tracking capacity increased by a factor of five and improved system Information Assurance/cybersecurityposture.
