The New York Times outlines the success of Russia's military-industrial complex:
- Russia has managed to ramp up missile production to above prewar levels despite Western sanctions, which could mean a particularly dark and cold winter for Ukraine.

- Russia is approaching production of two million artillery shells per year - twice what Western intelligence originally estimated, and more than the US and Europe combined produce .
포탄 생산량이 1년에 200만발에 가까울 정도로 증가.
- Russia's current ammunition production is seven times that of the West. And production costs are much lower. For example, the production of one 152-mm artillery shell costs Russia about $600, while a similar 155-mm shell in the West costs $5,000 to $6,000.
서방의 포탄 총 생산량의 7배에 달함. (실제로는 이거보다 더 차이 날 듯)

포탄 생산 원가에서 큰 차이. 러시아는 하나에 500달러인데 서방에서는 5000~6000달러 듬.

근데 이렇게 차이가 나는대도 러시아가 포탄 더 구하러 다니는건 한 달 이상 긴 공세를 앞두고 여분 재고를 미리 준비하는거임. 보통 공세에 방어보다 두 세배 이상 포탄을 씀. 러시아가 우크라보다 포탄 5배에서 10배까지 쏘는 건 다 알려졌고.

참고로 2차 대전 소련은 1년에 포탄을 1억 발씩 생산했었음
