시르스키는 가디언지 기자 Daniel Boffey와도 인터뷰를 가진 적이 있었는데(2023년), 

그 때 시르스키가 플루타르코스 영웅전과 한니발의 칸나이 전투를 언급했다고 함.

그 둘을 언급하면서, '그 때나 지금이나 전쟁의 주요 원리는 바뀌지 않았다'라는 말을 했다고.

그리고, 시르스키의 침대 옆 탁자에는 클라우제비츠(프로이센의 군사 사상가, 전쟁론으로 유명함)의 작품들이 놓여져 있었다고 함.
