프랑스 혁명기 부터 1906년에 폐지되기 전까지 약 프랑스군에 소속된 여성들이 있었음.


연대급 부대 정식 일원인데 급여나 배식은 받지 못했고, 위와 같은 업무로 군인들을 따라다니며 밥벌이를 하던 여성들임.


남편이 해당 부대 부사관이나 병사이던 케이스도 있고, 아내와 같은 업무를 하던 민간인들도 있음.


상황 안 좋을때는 이런 주모들이 총들고 전투에 참여하기도 했다는듯.
