GA-ASI Adds Saab Airborne Early Warning Capability to MQ-9BGeneral Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is partnering with Saab to develop Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) capability for its line of MQ-9B Remotely Piloted Aircraft, which includes the SkyGuardian® and SeaGuardian® models, the United Kingdom’s Protector, and the new MQ-9B STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) model currently in development. 제너럴 아토믹스가 사브와 손잡고 개발중인 무인 조기경보기 계획임.


MQ-9B 기반 기체에 사브가 만든 레이더 시스템을 달아서 무인 조기경보기로 굴린다는 계획임.


그리고 2035년에 영국해군의 크로우즈 네스트가 퇴역할 예정인데 그 대체 후보군으로 알아보는게 이거임. 일단 모하비 자체는 QE급에 이착륙 성공했고 캐터펄트 없이 장시간 굴릴수 있다는 이점도 있으니까.
