영국의 방산업체 BAE 시스템즈의 11월 9일자 공식 언론배포 기사에 의하면, 11월 9일에 BAE 시스템즈는 인도군에 M777A2 155mm 초경량 곡사포를 전달하는


기념행사를 했다고 합니다(Indian Army celebrated receiving its first M777A2 Ultra Lightweight Howitzers (ULH) at an official handover ceremony today).


BAE 시스템즈와 인도군이 맺은 계약에 의하면 총 145대의 M777A2 곡사포를 인도군이 도입하는데, 일단 올해 말까지 25대를 미국의 BAE 시스템즈 공장에서 생산해


서 전달한다고 합니다. 이 25대는 시험을 거쳐서 2019년 1월에 인도육군 연대에 배치된다고 하고, 남은 120대는 인도 현지에서 라이센스 생산한다(with 


the remaining 120 to be assembled in India by Mahindra Defence Systems Ltd. (MDSL)고 하는군요.
