여기는 트라팔가 광장입니다

the noise that you hear at the moment is the sound of the air raid sirens


지금 듣고 계신 소음은 공습 사이렌입니다

I'm standing here just on the steps of St martin-in-the-fields


저는 세인트 마틴의 계단에 서 있습니다

a searchlight just burst into action off in the distance one single beam sweeping the sky above me now


먼 거리에서 서치라이트가 터져나오며 하늘을 비추어대고 있습니다

people are walking along quite quietly


사람들이 아주 조용히 걸어다니고 있습니다

we are just at the entrance of an air raid shelter here and I must move this cable over just a bit so people can walk in.


저희는 공습 대피소에 있습니다 사람들이 들어올 수 있도록 케이블을 옮겨야 할 것 같습니다.

I can see just straight away in front of me Lord Nelson on top of that big column


넬슨 장군의 동상이 눈 앞에 있습니다

there is another searchlights just square behind Nelsons statue


동상 뒤에 또다른 서치라이트가 자리하고 있습니다

I'll just let you listen to the traffic and the sound of the siren for a moment


잠시 사이렌의 소리를 들려드리겠습니다

just a few people here walking rather hurriedly toward the air-raid shelters some of them casually a man stops in front of me to light a cigarette


대피소를 향해 서둘러서 걷고 있는 몇 사람 중 일부는 우연히 제 앞에서 흡연을 위해 멈춥니다.

Here Comes one of those big red buses around the corner double deckers they are ,just a few lights on the top deck


여기 있는 큰 버스들 중에 위에 조명을 단 빨간 이층 버스 한 대가 있습니다.

in this Blackness is looks very much like a ship that's passing in the night and you just see the portholes.


이 어둠 속에서 마치 선창만을 볼수 있는 밤바다를 지나가는 배와 매우 닮았습니다.

저기에 다른 버스가 지나갑니다.

더 많은 서치라이트들이 작동하고 있습니다

you can them reach straight up into the sky and occasionally they catch a cloud and seem to splash on the bottom of it.


조명이 구름에 닿으며 그 끝자락에  튀기는 듯이 보입니다

the little traffic lights here, just a small cross on the normal globe, are now red


거리의 작은 횡단보도의 신호등이 붉은빛으로 바뀝니다.

차들이 멈추기 시작합니다.

I'll just ooze down in the darkness here along these steps and see if I can pick up the sound of peoples' feet as they walk along.


저는 어둠이 내려앉은 이 계단에서 사람들의 걸음 소리를 들을 수 있는지 알아볼 셈 입니다.


one of the strangest sounds one can hear in London these days or rather these dark night's just the sound of footsteps walking along the streets, like ghosts shod with steel shoes.


이 어두운 밤에 길을 걷는 사람들의 소리는 요즈음 런던에서 들을 수 있는 가장 이상한 소리로써 마치
유령이 강철 군화를 신고 내는 소리 같습니다.

a taxi draes up just in front and stops just waitinh for that red light to change to green while the siren howls.

사이렌이 울리는 동안 정지선 앞에서 멈춘 택시가 빨간불이 초록불로 바뀌기를 기다리고 있습니다.

택시가 떠나고 다른 차들도 떨어져서 움직입니다
