1963년 말레이시아와 연방으로 합병했다가 여러 갈등 끝에 1965년 연방에서 쫓겨난 싱가포르의 리콴유 총리도 “레벤스라움”을 얻기 위해 보르네오 섬의 사바, 사라와크를 꿀꺽하는 생각을 했다고 하네요. 물론 무력 합병은 아니고 연방으로 합치자고 꼬셔서.

He recalled the incredibly bad judgment of Leeʼs extension of his Party activities out of Singapore into the rest of Malaysia. Leeʼs appetites apparently demanded a 빝 of “lebensraum”.
