Most CIA special operators came from the military, as these are highly trained professionals.

In 1982 I was deployed with a SAD (Special Activities Division on loan from the U.S. Army) to infiltrate and use psychology warfare (usage terminology at the time) to gauge American efforts to influence the people of South and Central America.

We did not have orders to kill or assassinate any HVT. Our job was strictly reconnaissance and our inherent ability to gauge the population's reactions to US efforts to democratize this group of countries.

Nothing more nor anything less.
